Potato Masala Stuffed Bun


POTATO MASALA STUFFED BUN




These buns are very easy to make. They can be had as a main course or a snack. Potato masala stuffed buns are tasty and delicious.

Ingredients:

1. All purpose flour- 1/2 cup
2. Wheat flour- 1/2 cup
3. Yeast- 1/2 tbsp
4. Salt- 1/2 tsp
5. Sugar- 1 tbsp
6. Olive oil- 1 tbsp
7. Luke warm water- 1/2 cup approximately

Dilute yeast in 2 tbsp of warm water.

In a large mixing bowl, mix all purpose flour, wheat flour, sugar and salt. Add yeast water, olive oil and enough warm water. Knead into a smooth dough. Knead well for 5 minutes. Transfer the dough into a greased bowl and allow it to rise for 1 hour.

9. Oil- 2 tsp
10. Cumin seeds- 1/4 tsp
11. Ginger garlic paste- 1/2 tsp
12. Green chilli- 1
13. Turmeric powder- pinch
14. Kashmiri chilli powder- 1/8 tsp
15. Garam masala- 1/8 tsp
16. Salt- as needed
17. Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp

Boil potato. Peel and mash it.

Heat oil in a pan. Crackle cumin. Add ginger garlic paste and green chilli. Slightly roast it. Mix mashed potato, turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala. Saute for 1 minute. Mix coriander leaves and adjust seasoning. Switch off and allow it to cool completely. This is the filling.

Grease a baking pan.

Once the dough has doubled in volume, punch down the dough and knead it again for a couple of minutes. Make medium sized balls out of the dough (3 to 4 portions) and gently roll it into a circle. Spoon in filling and shape into a bun. Place it on the greased pan.

Brush top of the buns with some olive oil. Cover with a cling film and allow it to proof for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven at 180 C.

Bake buns for 25 minutes until top looks golden brown and is smooth to touch.

Take baked buns out of the oven and brush olive oil on top while its still hot.

Serve warm.
