Tomato Upma
TOMATO UPMA
Tangy,spicy and tasty upma with full on flavors from tomato and spices. Tomato upma is perfect for a quick and easy breakfast.
Ingredients:
1. Semolina- 1 cup
2. Oil- 1 tbsp
3. Mustard- 1 tsp
4. Red chilli- 2
5. Curry leaves- 1 spring
6. Onion- 1
7. Green chilli- 2
8. Ginger- 1/2 tsp
9. Chopped tomato- 1; big
10. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
11. Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
12. Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
13. Salt- as needed
14. Water- 2 cup
15. Coriander leaves- 1/2 tbsp
Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard. Add red chilli and curry leaves. Slightly roast it. Add onion, ginger and green chilli. Saute till wilted. Add tomato, chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Mix well and saute for 3 minutes. Pour water and add salt. Bring it to a boil. Add semolina when water starts boiling and stir well to avoid forming lumps. Mix coriander leaves and cook till it becomes dry.
Serve hot.
