Udupi Neer Dosa


UDUPI NEER DOSA




Neer Dosa is an ideal South Indian breakfast which can be enjoyed with any curries. This Neer Dosa recipe is famous in Udupi. 

Ingredients:

1. White rice / Pachari / Dosa rice- 1 cup
2. Grated coconut- 1/4 cup
3. Flattened rice / Aval- 1/4 cup
4. Salt- as needed
5. Oil- as needed

Soak rice and flattened rice separately for 5 to 6 hours.

Add rice, flattened rice, coconut, salt and water in a blender. Grind it into a smooth batter. The batter should have a pouring consistency. Transfer it into a bowl.

Heat a frying pan and spread some oil over it. Pour the batter and rotate the pan so the batter can flow freely to all sides. Smear some oil over the dosa. Cook closed on medium flame. 

Serve hot with any curry of your choice.


Notes:

Make sure you see holes formed while pouring the batter on the pan. If you don't see holes, add some more water into the batter and make it more watery.
