Potato Tomato Masala Roti


POTATO TOMATO MASALA ROTI




A different delicious way to eat your usual roti. Spicy and tasty potato tomato masala stuffed between two breads is a classic way to eat your dinner.

Ingredients:

1. Wheat flour- 1 cup
2. Salt- as needed
3. Oil- 2 tsp
4. Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
5. Chopped onion- 1/2 cup
6. Green chilli chopped- 1
7. Chopped ginger- 1/2 tsp
8. Chopped garlic- 1/2 tsp
9. Potato- 1
10. Chopped tomato- 1
11. Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp
12. Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
13. Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
14. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
15. Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
16. Ghee- 1 tbsp

Cook potato. Peel and mash it.

Heat oil in a pan. Roast cumin. Add onion, green chilli, ginger and garlic. Saute till it turns light golden. Mix chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Saute for 1 minute. Add tomato and cook till it turns mushy. Roast till it becomes dry. Mix mashed potato, salt and coriander leaves. Cook in low flame for 2 minutes and turn off the gas. This is the filling.

In a large mixing bowl, add wheat flour and some salt. Pour enough water and knead into a soft and smooth dough. Make medium sized balls. Flatten them. 

Take a flattened roti and spread some filling on it. Cover it with another flattened roti and press the edges to seal the filling. Slightly roll it again. Heat a tava. Cook stuffed roti on both sides till done. Smear ghee on both sides while cooking.

Serve hot with curd and pickle.
