Pazham Pori
PAZHAM PORI
Pazham pori has been the most popular and favorite snack of Keralites. Its a deep fried snack of batter dipped banana.
Ingredients:
1. Ethappazham / Kerala banana- 2; medium ripe
2. All purpose flour- 1 cup
3. Rice flour- 1 tbsp
4. Cooking soda- 1/8 tsp
5. Turmeric powder- 1/8 tsp
6. Salt- pinch
7. Sugar- 1 to 2 tbsp
8. Oil- for frying
Cut banana as per your liking. I prefer it to be sliced into thin long pieces.
In a bowl mix flour, rice flour, cooking soda, turmeric powder, salt and sugar. Pour some water and make a thick batter.
Dip banana in the batter. Batter should coat the banana really well. Deep fry in hot oil till light golden. Drain on a tissue paper.
Serve hot.
