Onion Vada


ONION VADA




Crispy, delicious ulli vada is a popular tea snack in the malabar region. It can be prepared in no time.

Ingredients:

1. Sliced onion- 1
2. All purpose flour- 1 cup
3. Rice flour- 1 tbsp
4. Salt- as needed
5. Curry leaves- 1 spring
6. Chopped ginger- 1 tsp
7. Green chilli- 3
8. Oil- for frying
9. Cooking soda- 1/8 tsp

In a mixing bowl, take sliced onion and crush it well with your hands. Add flour, rice flour, salt, ginger, curry leaves, cooking soda and green chilli. Pour little water and make a thick batter.

Heat oil. Make vada with the prepared batter and deep fry in oil till golden.

Serve hot.
