Gobi Paratha


GOBI PARATHA




Paratha or flat bread stuffed with spiced cauliflower. Gobi Paratha is a popular dish from Punjab and it taste heavenly.

Ingredients:

1. Wheat flour- 1 cup
2. Salt- as needed
3. Oil- 3 tsp
4. Chopped ginger- 1 tsp
5. Minced / grated cauliflower- 2 cup
6. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
7. Coriander powder- 1/2 tsp
8. Kashmiri chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
9. Cumin powder- 1/2 tsp
10. Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
11. Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp
12. Butter- 1 tbsp

Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan. Add ginger and slightly roast it. Add cauliflower and cook for 5 minutes. Mix chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala, salt and cumin powder. Saute for 2 minutes and add coriander leaves. Mix well. Saute till it becomes dry and switch off the flame. This is the filling.

Add wheat flour, salt and 1 tsp of oil into a large mixing bowl. Pour enough water and knead into a soft and smooth dough. Make medium size balls and flatten it. Put a spoonful of the filling and seal it inside by shaping again into a ball. Flatten it. Cook on a hot tava on both sides until done. Smear some butter on both sides while cooking.

Serve hot with curd and pickle.
