Indian Cheese Sandwich
INDIAN CHEESE SANDWICH
Yummy, cheesy and tasty grilled sandwiches. It is perfect for a snack or a light lunch.
Ingredients:
1. Bread slices
2. Coriander leaves- 1/2 cup
3. Mint leaves- 1/4 cup
4. Garlic- 2
5. Ginger- 1 big piece
6. Salt- as needed
7. Roasted chana dal / split chickpea- 1 tbsp
8. Green chilli- 1
9. Cumin powder- 1/4 tsp
10. Chaat masala- 1 1/2 tsp
11. Sugar- 1/4 tsp
12. Asafoetida / kayam- pinch
13. Lime juice- 1/2 tbsp
14. Water- 1/4 cup
15. Chopped capsicum- 1
16. Chopped onion- 1
17. Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
18. Butter- as required
19. Grated cheese- as required

For making the green chutney add coriander leaves, mint leaves, garlic, ginger, salt, chana dal, sugar, cumin powder, 1/2 tsp of chaat masala, lime juice, asafoetida, green chilli and water into a blender. Blend well. Transfer it into a bowl.
For making the filling, in a mixing bowl combine capsicum, onion, 1 tsp of chaat masala, pepper powder, pinch of salt and grated cheese.
Spread green chutney on a slice of bread. Put a layer of filling and cover with another bread slice. Spread chutney on the second slice also and put a layer of veggies. Cover it with the third slice. This forms 2 layer stuffing with 3 bread slices. Grill or toast on a hot tava on both sides after brushing with some butter.
Serve hot garnished with some more grated cheese.
