Grapefruit Wine
GRAPEFRUIT WINE
Grapefruit makes a delightful wine and this fruit is a terrific source of vitamins, fibre and other nutrients.
Ingredients:
1. Grapefruit- 6
2. Water- 4 litre
3. Sugar- 1 1/2 kg
4. Yeast- 1/2 tsp
Wash grapefruit and wipe with a towel. Using a peeler, thinly peel the zest of 3 grapefruit without the white part.
Extract juice from all the grapefruit and keep them aside.
In a big vessel, add water, sugar and grapefruit zest. Bring it to boil. Add grapefruit juice and boil for 3 minutes. Switch off the flame and let it cool down a bit.
When it becomes lukewarm, add yeast and stir well. Transfer it into a glass jar or bharani. Cover and leave it for 14 days stirring daily. After 14 days, strain the wine into another clean glass bottle or bharani. Keep this untouched for 7 days.
After 7 days, strain the wine again and use.
