Coconut Curd Chutney


COCONUT CURD CHUTNEY




This is a simple, quick and easy chutney recipe for dosa and idli. The combination of coconut and curd is just amazing. It is tasty and flavorful.

Ingredients:

1. Grated coconut- 1 cup
2. Ginger- 1/2 inch piece
3. Roasted split chickpeas / Chana dal- 2 tbsp
4. Green chilli- 2
5. Curd- 3 tbsp
6. Coconut oil- 1 tbsp
7. Mustard- 1 tsp
8. Cumin- 1/2 tsp
9. Uzhunn / Urad dal- 1/2 tsp
10. Curry leaves- 1 spring
11. Red chilli- 1
12. Salt- as needed
13. Asafoetida / Kayam- pinch

Grind coconut, ginger, split chickpea, green chilli and salt into a fine paste adding some water.

In a bowl, add curd and slightly whisk it using a fork. Add the ground coconut paste and stir well.

Heat oil. Splutter mustard, cumin and urad dal. Add red chilli and curry leaves. Roast them. Mix asafoetida and switch off the flame. Pour this over the chutney and mix well.

Serve with idli, dosa, vada etc.
