Bread Idli


BREAD IDLI




Bread idli is a simple breakfast recipe made with bread. It is filling and tasty.

Ingredients:

1. Bread- 2 slices
2. Semolina- 1/2 cup
3. Curd- 1/2 cup
4. Water- as required
5. Salt- as needed
6. Baking soda- pinch
7. Oil- for greasing the idli moulds

Cut the edges of the bread and blend it to make a fine powder. Transfer it into a large mixing bowl. Add Semolina, Curd, salt and 1/2 cup of water. Mix well. Pour 1/4 cup of water above the batter to prevent drying up and let it rest for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, stir the batter well. If required, add more water to get the consistency of idli batter. Mix cooking soda just before making the idli. Pour the batter into the greased moulds and steam it for 10 minutes on medium flame.  Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve hot with chutney and sambar.
