Bhatura with Carbonated Water / Soda
BHATURA WITH CARBONATED WATER / SODA WATER
Traditional Bhatura are made using cooking soda. Here in this recipe, we are making the same authentic bhatura with soda water or carbonated water. It is delicious, soft and fluffy.
Ingredients:
1. All purpose flour- 1 1/4 cup
2. Sugar- 1/2 tsp
3. Semolina- 1/4 cup
4. Oil- as required
5. Salt- 1/4 tsp
6. Carbonated water / soda- 1/2 cup
In a large mixing bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, semolina and 1/2 tbsp of oil. Pour soda and knead it into a smooth and soft dough. Cover the dough with moist cloth for 30 minutes. Knead the dough again for 2 to 3 minutes and make small balls out of it. Roll them into circles with medium thickness. Heat oil and drop the flattened bhatura into it. Slightly press with the spoon to puff up. Cook the puffed up bhatura on both sides till golden. Drain on a tissue paper.
Serve hot with any curry of your choice.
