Tangy Fish Curry


TANGY FISH CURRY




Tangy Fish Curry is a flavorsome curry with the perfect blend of spices and tangy flavors, balanced with coconut milk. This is a popular recipe from South India.

Ingredients:

1. Fish slices- 1/2 kg
2. Tamarind- 1 tbsp
3. Water- 1/4 cup
4. Coconut oil- 1 tbsp
5. Shallots- 1 cup
6. Ginger- 1 tbsp
7. Curry leaves- 1 spring
8. Chilli powder- 1 1/2 tbsp
9. Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
10. Coriander powder- 1 tbsp
11. Coconut milk- 1 cup
12. Sugar- 1/2 tsp
13. Salt- as needed

Soak Tamarind in 1/4 cup of water and squeeze out the pulp. Keep it aside.

Heat oil in a pan. Saute Shallots, Ginger and curry leaves well. Mix Chilli powder, Turmeric powder and Coriander powder. Saute for 1 minute. Pour Tamarind water and bring it to boil. Pour coconut milk and bring it to boil. Add salt. Add fish pieces and cook closed till the fish is cooked through. Mix sugar and switch off the flame.

Serve hot with Rice, Tapioca etc.
