Quail Egg Biriyani


QUAIL EGG BIRIYANI




A very tasty and flavorful biriyani made with Quail eggs that is so simple to make but tastes out of this world. 

Ingredients:

1. Boiled Quail eggs- 8
2. Ghee- 1 tbsp
3. Oil- 1 tbsp
4. Cinnamon- 1/2 inch stick
5. Cardamon- 2
6. Bay leaf- 1
7. Onion- 1
8. Crushed garlic- 1
9. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
10. Chilli powder- 1/4 tsp
11. Biriyani rice / Jeeragasala rice- 1 cup
12. Boiling water- 2 cup
13. Salt- as needed
14. Garam masala- 1 tsp
15. Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp
16. Chopped Tomato- 1

Prick eggs with a fork all over and keep aside.

Heat oil and ghee together in a pressure cooker. Roast cinnamon, cardamon and bay leaf. Add onion and garlic. Saute till it turns golden. Mix turmeric powder, chilli powder and garam masala. Saute for 1 minute. Add tomatoes and cook till it turns mushy. Add rice and coriander leaves. Fry it for 2 minutes. Add eggs and then add boiling water. Adjust salt and stir well. Close the cooker and initially do not put the whistle on. Put the whistle only after steam starts coming heavily through the whistle hole and reduce the flame to simmer. Cook for exact 5 minutes and switch off the flame.

 After 20 minutes,open the cooker and mix well.

Serve hot with curd salad, pappad and lime pickle
