Bird's Eye Chilli / Kanthari Chicken


BIRD'S EYE CHILLI / KANTHARI CHICKEN




Quick, easy, spicy and exotic Kanthari Chicken with all the flavors of home infused into it. It is a delicious and a different chicken recipe and can be served with anything and everything.

Ingredients:

1. Chicken- 1/2 kg
2. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
3. Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
4. Chilli powder- 1/2 tsp
5. Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
6. Oil- 1 tbsp
7. Shallots- 15
8. Kanthari / Bird's eye chilli- 10
9. Curry leaves- 1 spring
10. Ginger- 1/2 inch piece
11. Salt- as needed

Marinate chicken with turmeric powder, salt, chilli powder, garam masala and pepper powder.

Crush shallots, ginger, kanthari and curry leaves to make a coarse paste.

Heat oil in pan. Add the crushed paste and saute for 1 minute. Add Chicken and mix well. Cook closed in medium flame till the chicken becomes tender. Stir occasionally. Cook till the masala coats around the chicken pieces.

Serve hot.


Notes:

Add 1 or 2 tbsp of water if you feel the chicken will stick to the bottom of the pan.
