Tamarind Chicken


TAMARIND CHICKEN







Tamarind Chicken is a very easy recipe. Its tangy and delicious.

Ingredients:

1. Chicken- 1 kg ; cut into medium size pieces
2. Tamarind- 1 tbsp
3. Hot Water- 1/2 cup
4. Oil- as needed
5. Shallots- 15
6. Red Chilli flakes- 2 tbsp
7. Salt- as required
8. Vinegar- 1 1/2 tbsp
9. Pepper powder- 2 tbsp

Soak Tamarind in hot water for 10 minutes. Squeeze well and take the juice out.

Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan. Saute Shallots till wilted. Add 1 tbsp of Chilli flakes and turn off the gas. Let it cool down completely. Grind it into a paste adding Tamarind water.

Marinate Chicken with Pepper powder, salt, Vinegar and ground paste. Keep in refrigerator for 1/2 hour.

Heat 1 1/2 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add Chicken along with the entire marination. Cook in medium heat stirring occasionally. Once its half cooked, mix 1 tbsp of Chilli flakes. Cook till Chicken is cooked through and the masala should coat the Chicken evenly.

Serve hot as a side dish.
