Naadan Thengakoth Beef Roast


NAADAN THENGAKOTH BEEF ROAST




Kerala style Naadan Beef Roast cooked with Thengakoth is a true culinary delight and a mouth watering delicacy prepared during any special occasions. This can be served as side dish for Rice, Tapioca, Roti etc

Ingredients:

1. Beef- 1 kg
2. Garlic- 15
3. Ginger- 2 1/2 inch
4. Thengakoth / Coconut pieces- 1/2 cup
5. Fennel powder- 1/2 tsp
6. Pepper powder- 2 tbsp
7. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
8. Coconut oil- 2 tbsp
9. Curry leaves- 1 spring
10. Salt- as needed
11. Shallots- 15
12. Garam masala- 2 tsp
13. Red Chilli flakes- 1 tbsp

Mix Beef with Garlic (10 number), Ginger (1 1/2 inch), Thengakoth, Fennel, 1 tbsp of Pepper powder, Turmeric powder, Curry leaves and salt. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Cook it in a pressure cooker. After opening the cooker, boil it till it becomes dry.

Heat 1 tbsp of Coconut oil. Saute Shallots, Garlic (5 number) and Ginger julienne (1 inch) till they become soft. Add Beef and mix well. Mix Red Chilli flakes, 1 tbsp of Pepper powder and Garam masala. Adjust salt. Cook to a roast consistency, stirring occasionally. It will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Switch off the flame and pour 1 tbsp of Coconut oil. Mix well.

Serve hot as a side with your main course.
