Long String Beans / Vallipayar Thoran
VALLIPAYAR THORAN
This is a simple and tasty side dish that goes well with Rice. Keralites need no introduction to this dish as its an everyday common side dish served with meals.
Ingredients:
1. Chopped Long String Beans- 2 cup
2. Chopped Onion- 1
3. Green Chilli- 2
4. Curry leaves- 1 spring
5. Coconut oil- 2 tsp
6. Grated Coconut- 1/2 cup
7. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
8. Salt- as needed
Heat Coconut oil. Add Long String Beans, Onion, Green Chilli, Curry leaves, Coconut and Turmeric powder. Mix well. Cook closed in low flame stirring occasionally. Adjust salt. Switch off flame when its cooked enough.
Serve hot with Rice.
