Tamil Nadu White Coconut Chutney


TAMIL NADU WHITE COCONUT CHUTNEY




The basic Tamil Nadu Coconut Chutney is the easiest chutney recipe for Idli, Dosa etc. 

Ingredients:

1. Grated Coconut- 1 cup
2. Ginger- 1/2 inch piece
3. Garlic- 2
4. Green Chilli- 2
5. Curry leaves- 1 spring
6. Salt- as required
7. Water- as needed
8. Coconut oil- 1 tbsp
9. Mustard- 1/2 tsp
10. Cumin- 1/2 tsp
11. Red Chilli- 2
12. Asafoetida- pinch

Grind Coconut, Ginger, Garlic, Green Chilli and Curry leaves to a thick paste adding some water.

Heat oil. Splutter Mustard. Roast Cumin, Red Chilli and Asafoetida. Pour the ground chutney and mix well. Adjust salt. Do not boil the chutney. Switch off flame when its about to boil. 

Serve warm with Idli, Dosa etc.
