POORI / PURI




Poori is a very popular Indian fried flat bread. It can be served for breakfast or as a snack or a light meal with some savory curry.

Ingredients:

1. Wheat flour / Atta- 1 cup
2. All purpose flour- 1/2 cup
3. Semolina- 1/4 cup
4. Salt- as needed
5. Vegetable Ghee / Dalda- 1 tbsp
6. Luke warm water- as required

Mix Atta, Maida, Semolina and salt. Add Dalda and mix well with your hand. Pour water and knead a soft and smooth dough. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 1 hour.

Make balls out of the dough. Flatten it and deep fry in hot oil. Turn over when it puffs up. Fry till light golden. 

Serve hot with any savory curry of your choice.
