POTATO KOFTA MASALA




Potato Kofta Masala is a delicious north Indian flavors inspired curry. The taste of Tomatoes really stand out in its gravy and the gravy is so creamy that it will melt in your mouth.

Ingredients:

1. Potatoes - 3
2. Corn flour- 1/4 cup
3. Chilli powder- 1 tsp + 1 tbsp
4. Chopped Ginger- 2 tsp
5. Oil- 1 tbsp + For frying Koftas
6. Cumin- 1/4 tsp
7. Asafoetida- 1/8 tsp
8. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
9. Coriander powder- 1 tsp
10. Ginger Garlic paste- 1 tsp
11. Green Chilli- 2
12. Tomatoes- 3
13. Fresh cream- 1/2 cup
14. Water- 1/3 cup
15. Coriander leaves- 2 tbsp + For garnishing
16. Garam masala- 1/4 tsp
17. Salt- as required

Boil Potatoes. Peel and mash them well. Add Corn flour, salt, 1 tsp Chilli powder and Ginger to the mashed Potatoes and mix well. Make small balls and deep fry them in oil till light golden brown.

Take the Tomatoes in a blender and grind them into a puree.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Roast Cumin and add Asafoetida to the hot oil. Add Turmeric powder, Coriander powder, Green Chilli and Ginger Garlic paste. Saute for 1 minute. Add Tomato puree and bring it to boil. Add water and let it boil for 5 minutes or till the raw taste of Tomatoes are gone. Add Cream and mix well. Let it boil till the gravy thickens. Adjust salt. Sprinkle Coriander leaves and Garam masala. Mix well. Add the fried Potato Koftas and stir gently. Koftas should be well coated with the gravy. Lastly Garnish with Coriander leaves.

Serve warm with Naan, Roti, Chapathi etc
