Pepper Chicken Liver


PEPPER CHICKEN LIVER



This is a Kerala style Chicken Liver recipe which is delightfully easy and delicious. It is made with roasted Coconut pieces and lots of Pepper powder.

Ingredients:

1. Chicken Liver- 300 gms
2. Coconut Oil- 1 tbsp
3. Coconut pieces / Thengakothu- 1/4 cup
4. Curry leaves- 1 spring
5. Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
6. Onion- 2
7. Green Chilli- 4
8. Garlic- 8
9. Ginger- 1 inch piece
10. Pepper powder- 1 tbsp
11. Coriander powder- 2 tsp
12. Salt- as required
13. Garam masala- 1 tsp
14. Chopped Tomato- 1
15. Water- as required

Cut Liver into small pieces and wash well. Drain and keep aside.

Heat oil. Roast Coconut pieces and Curry leaves. Set aside.

In the same oil, saute Onion,Green Chilli,Garlic and Ginger. Add salt. Once its wilted, add Turmeric powder, 1/2 tbsp pepper powder, Coriander powder and Garam masala. Add Tomato when you get that nice aroma of roasted masala powder. Cook till Tomato turns mushy. Mix Liver and stir well. Add water just enough to cook the Liver. Close and cook. Stir every 2 minutes. Cook with the lid opened after the Liver is cooked through. Stir till there is no water left and its nicely dry. Mix roasted Coconut, 1/2 tbsp Pepper powder and Curry leaves. Cook for 1 minute and switch off the flame.

Serve hot with Rice, Chapati etc.
