Paneer Masala


PANEER MASALA




Paneer Masala is a vegetarian dish of Paneer served in a spicy gravy.  Its rich and delicious. Paneer Masala goes well with Roti, Naan etc. 

Ingredients:

1. Paneer cubes- 300 grams
2. Onion- 1
3. Clove- 2
4. Cinnamon- 1 inch
5. Coriander seeds- 3 tsp
6. Poppy seed- 1 tbsp
7. Red Chilli- 5
8. Peppercorns- 10
9. Grated Coconut- 1 tbsp
10. Cumin- 1 1/2 tsp
11. Garlic- 5
12. Ginger- 1/2 inch
13. Ghee- 3 tbsp
14. Tomato- 2
15. Fresh Cream- 2 tbsp
16. Water- 3/4 cup
17. Salt- as required
18. Chilli sauce- 1 tsp

Grind Onion, Clove, Cinnamon, Coriander seeds, Poppy seeds, Red Chilli, Peppercorns, grated Coconut, Cumin, Garlic and Ginger into a fine paste.

Heat Ghee in a pan. Fry Paneer till light golden. Once fried soak the Paneer in water.

In the same left over Ghee, add the masala paste and saute for 5 minutes. Add Tomato and saute till oil appears. Add Paneer (only paneer at this stage, not the water) and mix well. Add Cream and Chilli sauce. Saute for 1 minute. Lastly add the Paneer soaked water and mix everything well. Adjust salt. Cook closed in low flame until gravy thickens.  

Once the gravy is thick and creamy, move it into a serving bowl. Serve with Roti or Naan.
