Mutton Curry
MUTTON CURRY
Delicious, soft and tender chunks of Mutton in mouth watering gravy. It is usually served as a side for Pathiri in Kerala. It also goes well with Rice, Appam, Chapathi etc.
Ingredients:
1. Mutton- 1 kg
2. Ginger- 1 1/2 inch piece
3. Garlic- 10
4. Clove- 4
5. Cinnamon- 1 inch stick
6. Fennel seeds- 1 tsp
7. Cumin- 1/2 tsp
8. Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
9. Chilli powder- 2 tsp
10. Coriander powder- 1tsp
11. Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
12. Oil- 1 tbsp
13. Onion- 2
14. Tomato- 2
15. Curry leaves- 2 springs
16. Salt- as required
17. Water- 1 cup
18. Coconut milk- 1 1/2 cup
Grind Ginger, Garlic, Clove, Cinnamon, Fennel and Cumin without adding water. Mix it with Turmeric powder, Chilli power, Coriander powder and Pepper powder. Keep it aside.
Take a cooker and heat Oil. Saute Onion till golden brown. Add Tomato and Curry leaves and saute till Tomatoes turn mushy. Add the masala and and saute till it turns brown in color. Mix Mutton and stir for 1 minute. Pour water. Close cooker and cook Mutton well.
After you open the cooker place it back on the stove and cook on high flame till the gravy becomes almost dry. Pour Coconut milk and combine well. Do not boil. Switch off gas when the curry is about to boil.
Serve hot with your favorite breakfast.
