Masala Kozhukkatta


MASALA KOZHUKKATTA




Masala Kozhukkatta is a perfect breakfast dish. You can have it with or without any sides. Its very tasty, a bit spicy and flavor packed.

Ingredients:

1. Rice flour- 1 cup
2. Water- 1 1/2 cup
3. Ghee- 1/2 tsp
4. Salt- as needed
5. Onion- 2
6. Oil- 2 tsp
7. Mustard- 1/2 tsp
8. Curry leaves- 1 spring
9. Turmeric powder- pinch
10. Kashmiri chilli powder- 1/4 tsp
11. Chilli flakes- 2 tsp
12. Vinegar- 1/4 tsp

Mix water, Ghee and some salt in a pan. Bring it to boil. Add rice flour and stir well. Switch off the flame. Briskly stir until it forms a dough. Take small portions of the dough and shape them into tiny balls. Steam it in a steamer for 15 minutes.

After slicing the Onion, squeeze and remove the juice from it.

Heat oil. Splutter Mustard. Saute Onion and curry leaves till it turns golden brown. Add Turmeric powder, Kashmiri Chilli powder and Chilli flakes. Saute well. Mix Vinegar. Lastly, add the steamed rice balls and mix well. Cook closed in low flame for 3 minutes.

Delicious Masala Kozhukkatta are ready.
