Chicken Kofta Masala


CHICKEN KOFTA MASALA





Chicken Kofta Masala is a delicious curry that can be paired with Rice,Chapati,Naan etc. In this recipe Chicken Koftas are poached in the gravy which makes it very flavorful and tasty.

Ingredients:

1. Boneless Chicken cubes- 1/2 kg
2. Egg- 1
3. Garam masala- 1/2 tsp
4. Chilli powder- 1 tsp
5. Salt- as required
6. Butter- 1 1/2 tbsp
7. Oil- 2 tsp
8. Ginger- 1 1/4 tsp
9. Garlic- 1 1/4 tsp
10. Green Chilli- 2
11. Onion- 1
12. Mint leaves- 1 tbsp
13. Coriander leaves- 1 tbsp
14. Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
15. Bay leaf- 1
16. Cashew nuts- 1 tbsp
17. Coriander powder- 3/4 tbsp
18. Water- 1 cup
19. Fresh cream- 1 tbsp
20. Lemon juice- 1/2 tbsp

Soak Cashew nuts.

Grind Chicken into a paste. Add Egg, Garam masala, 1/2 tsp Chilli powder, salt and 1/2 tbsp Butter and mix well. Keep it aside.

Heat 1 tbsp Butter and 1 tsp oil together in a pan. Saute Onion, Ginger, Garlic and Green Chilli till it turns translucent. Add Mint, Coriander leaves, Turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp Chilli powder and Coriander powder. Saute it. Turn off the gas and let it cool down a bit. Move it into a blender. Add soaked Cashew nuts and grind it into a fine paste.

Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Roast Bay leaf. Pour the ground masala paste and 1 cup of water into the pan. Bring it to boil. Take small portion of the ground Chicken paste and make balls. Place them in the boiling gravy and cook it well.  Once cooked well add fresh cream and mix well. The gravy has to be thick and creamy. Lastly, mix Lemon juice.

Serve hot.
