Chammanthi for Biriyani
CHAMMANTHI FOR BIRIYANI
Biriyani is incomplete without salad, pickle, pappad and the one and only special chammanthi. Towards Kozhikode, Malappuram etc I haven't seen any hotel serving a biriyani without this specialty as a side.
The logic behind serving this Coconut-Coriander leaves-Mint chammanthi is that you will not feel heavy and tired after eating biriyani.
Ingredients:
1. Grated Coconut- 1 cup
2. Garlic- 1
3. Ginger- 1/2 inch piece
4. Coriander leaves- 5 springs
5. Mint leaves- 2 tbsp
6. Lime juice- 2 tsp (can be substituted with 2 tsp of Vinegar)
7. Green Chilli- 5
8. Salt- as required
Grind Coconut, Garlic, Ginger, Coriander leaves, Mint Leaves and Green Chilli to a fine paste. Mix Lime juice or Vinegar. Adjust salt. Mix well.
Serve with your Biriyani and enjoy.
